Antigua’s Hidden Gems: Beaches, Pillars, and Stunning Island Views

Antigua intro e1738756446811

Antigua is one of the 2 major islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. It has many hidden gems, including beaches, natural landmarks, and places to learn about the local culture.

Pigeon Point Beach:

A local choice & again a big stretch of sand with barely anyone else on it. Pigeon Point beach is certainly one of my favorite beaches in Antigua. This beach is everything you expect when you talk about a Caribbean beach: white sand, crystal clear waters, tropical foliage, views of classic sailing boats etc.

Pillars of Hercules:

Nature has its own way of crafting wonders, and the Pillars of Hercules stand testament to that. This is a must-see on the island and one of the most unique things to do in Antigua. They are unique rock formations shaped by years of erosion that look like giant pillars. It’s as if nature decided to show off its sculpting skills!

Shirley Heights:

Head on up to Shirley Heights for some of the best views in Antigua. It’s this cool spot perched up high, where you can see a whole lot of the island and the endless blue sea stretching out in front of you. There is this view of a piece of landscape that actually resembles a large crocodile!
